Fuel Merges With Plymouth-Based Digital Marketing Agency, Ruckus
As a full-service marketing agency, Fuel Communications is always looking for ways to improve the service it can provide to its clients. We guarantee this by making sure our in-house team is made up of the best people possible, with skills and personalities that complement each other. With this in mind, we are pleased to announce our merger with fellow digital agency, Ruckus Marketing, and the opening of a new Birmingham branch of Fuel.
Our two agencies have formed a close relationship over the past 3 years and have worked well together in driving significant growth for clients in the e-commerce, leisure, education, health, and hospitality sectors. The merger sees Ruckus’ Ed Watson become Creative Director and Alem Al-Khamiri become Digital Director at Fuel.
Both organisations started up in Plymouth University’s award-winning Formation Zone incubation facility – Fuel in 2008 and Ruckus in 2016. They have chosen a similar formula to scale up their new Birmingham office where Alem will be based. From March, they will be based at Millennium Point’s STEAMhouse, Birmingham City University’s new £22.2m enterprise and collaboration facility.
The deal with Ruckus is Fuel’s second in recent months, following the acquisition of immersive agency, One Polygon (also a former Formation Zone client), in November, which saw the agency move its Plymouth office to larger premises at The Crescent.
Commenting on the merger, Ed and Alem said:
“The merger provides our digital marketing clients with access to more skills and services to support their ambitions in 2020 and beyond. We’re delighted to join Fuel Communications and are excited about playing lead roles in driving the agency forward.”
Jointly commenting, Fuel’s Managing Director, Martyn King, and Business Development Director, Steve Gyseman, explained:
“This merger brings two very talented professionals into our strategic leadership and offers us a great opportunity to grow from the Midlands in collaboration with Birmingham City University.”
They continued: “This is the latest in a series of investments to fuel further demand for our clients. After launching in the affiliate marketing space and 2017 and immersive in 2019, we now have in-house skills set that very few agencies can match.”
Fuel Communications also has satellite offices in Bristol and London to support its UK and international client base.
