As our e-commerce offering has enhanced in recent years, our record of helping clients to thrive in competitive sectors is something we are particularly proud of. An example of this kind of sector is the woodfuel space in the UK, a hugely populated market filled with a range of approaches including the premium, the budget, the well-known and the up-and-coming.
In 2021, Fuel made our first venture into the busy woodfuel sector. We were brought in by our client to work across multiple channels including PPC, SEO and Affiliate Marketing. We had to ensure that these different channels were aligned towards the central goal: e-commerce growth.
Whilst the woodfuel business was established in multiple channels already, affiliate marketing was a new venture and the client was keen to tap into the no-risk approach that we offer. The results of this approach really paid dividends for this client moving into a busy Q4 of 2021.
The results
The headline numbers from our affiliate campaign were:
- Over £120k of revenue delivered via affiliates in Q4 of 2021
- Over 10% of website revenue came from affiliate traffic within months of going live
- Achieved 9 ROAS for affiliate spend
As well as achieving these stand-out numbers, we eliminated any set-up or minimum monthly costs by partnering with Adtraction. This relationship meant that all marketing spend for the channel could be focused on partnering with and activating appropriate affiliates, driving revenue as quickly as possible for our woodfuel client.
By working in this efficient and ROAS-focused manner, we were able to deliver some really strong results and devise a strategy that dovetailed well with the other marketing channels already in play to deliver great results overall and, most importantly, growth for the client.
