Fuel Director does the double

We’re pleased to announce that Fuel’s very own Business Development Director, Steve Gyseman, has secured an impressive double by being shortlisted at the national BNI Awards for both Director of the Year (Chapter Launch) and for the Core Value Awards.
The BNI Awards take place every year at the annual conference, which this year was held at the De Vere lakeside hotel in the Cotswolds. BNI is the world’s largest and most successful referral networking organisation with over 340,000 members across the globe in nearly 12,000 individual chapters. Steve is a member of the BNI Pilgrim chapter in Plymouth and has been for the last five and a half years.
Over the last twelve months Steve has been the driving force behind the launch of a second BNI Chapter in Plymouth and under his guidance as the newly appointed Director Consultant, the Endeavour Chapter launched in December of 2024. The group has gone from strength to strength rising from 22 members at launch to an impressive 27 members from local businesses at this moment in time.
No doubt the highlight of the Awards for Steve was the fact that he did get to help the BNI Devon Region to win one of the coveted regional awards, a moment he got to share with BNI Devon Executive Director, Benson Campbell and his team of Director Consultants.
Commenting on the news, Steve Gyseman himself said:
“To be shortlisted at these national awards ‘once’ is great, but to manage it ‘twice’ is something special (if not a little greedy). BNI has played an important part of Fuel’s development in recent years and it has undoubtedly been hugely important to me personally, so being a finalist is recognition of that fact. Long may the relationship and success continue. I am thrilled for Benson and our team, it was great to achieve this amazing recognition and bring back an award back to Devon.”
