Fuel Supports The Next Generation Of Marketers
At Fuel, we’ve always been committed to fostering local talent and giving opportunities to young people at the start of their careers. Many of our current team started their careers with us as apprentices and interns, and we’ve been lucky enough to be joined by some great placement students for recent key projects.
2026 has been a particularly busy year for us when it comes to supporting local talent. Alongside hosting a two-week Get Into Digital programme for The King’s Trust, we’ve also welcomed four work experience students into the office over the spring and summer months. Olivia, Alice, Emilia and Harry have all recently spent time with the team, getting involved with real client work and experiencing what life at a marketing agency is really like!
Rather than spending their placements solely shadowing members of the team, each student was given the opportunity to get stuck into a wide range of tasks across multiple marketing disciplines. They got stuck straight into everything from influencer research to blog writing and sitemap creation to social media content writing.
They also attended client meetings, helped analyse competitors for a range of PPC campaigns and sourced stock imagery for upcoming website projects and SEO content. All of the work they completed contributed to live client projects, giving them a genuine insight into the pace and variety of agency life.
Each student was a pleasure to have in the office and brought something different to the team. Harry showed a real creative eye and flair for design, producing unique branding concepts and client merchandise ideas. Alice uncovered some fantastic influencers for some upcoming affiliate initiatives. Olivia drafted some brilliant social media messages for summer campaigns, while Emilia put together a great launch plan for a client’s new product.
We were really impressed by the standard of work across the board and the enthusiasm everyone brought to their placements. We hope they all left with a better understanding of the industry and world of work and wish them every success with their future studies and careers.
Here’s what a few of them had to say about their time with us:
“During my two-day work experience at Fuel, I was involved in a wide range of tasks for real clients that gave me a deep dive into the marketing world[…] The team couldn’t have made me feel more welcome. They took an interest in my A-Level studies and talked to me about their path into marketing which was so helpful.” – Olivia
“Working with Fuel over the past days has shown me the skills and knowledge you need for business marketing. It has also shown me the different sectors that are involved in marketing and given me an understanding of each. I hope to apply all I have learnt to my future!” – Alice
