Fuel continues to foster young talent
Here at Fuel, we take great pride in growing young talent and creating a platform for passionate marketers, designers and everything-in-betweeners to thrive in the marketing arena.
One such individual is Lucy Elliott, who joined Fuel in September 2020, becoming the affiliate department’s first ever apprentice. It’s safe to say that if all marketing apprenticeships go as well as this one did then we’ll most definitely be looking to recruit many more in the future!
Lucy’s marketing apprenticeship has been in Customer Service with Digital Marketing, and we are delighted to say that she has successfully passed the course and will be making the step up to working full time as an Affiliate Marketing Account Executive.
Moving to a full time position gives Lucy an extra day a week to focus on our affiliate clients, which is a really exciting prospect given how much of a positive impact she has had so far.
Seve Catindig-Stagg, Fuel Affiliate Director said “Lucy has grown to become a key part of the affiliate department and both her colleagues and our clients really appreciate the work she does. Her progress has been impressive and I’m really pleased that she has decided that Fuel Affiliate is the place she wants to take her first steps into full time work, having successfully balanced her current workload with achieving great results in her marketing apprenticeship – with some brilliant support from Clare at Achievement Training.”
We’re very proud of Lucy Elliott and all that she’s achieved, as she joins a growing list of young people who started their marketing journey at Fuel, and (thankfully for us) have stayed on to become full time members of the team.
Lucy King joined us as part of her Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with City College Plymouth. Cutting her teeth on the fundamental tasks of a marketer in the 21st century, Lucy soon established herself as a key member of the team, and now having completed her marketing apprenticeship, has worked her way up to the role of Senior Account Executive, overseeing and managing the planning and implementation of her clients’ marketing campaigns.
Whilst we champion marketing apprenticeships for the fantastic opportunities they provide for both individuals and organisations alike, it’s not the only route to take when starting your career journey. Ella Guildford, Taylor Kitto and Tabea Brassel all joined us following their work placements as part of their degree programmes at The University of Plymouth.
Ella joined us on a placement in 2015 as part of her Marketing degree, joining us full time a few years later in 2019. Her outstanding work and continued development now sees her placed alongside Lucy King as a Senior Account Executive with a wide-ranging client base and a very impressive tool kit of skills which have brought great plaudits from those she has worked with.
Taylor’s Fuel journey started in 2016 as a work placement student during his Graphic Communication with Typography degree, again at The University of Plymouth. Taylor’s flair and keen eye for detail saw him excel during his early time with us, with him now working closely alongside our Creative Director Ed Watson as an Associate Designer. Taylor is now responsible for creating eye-catching graphics and digital assets for a multitude of marketing channels.
Finally, Tabea’s marketing journey started in Germany, before moving to the Netherlands where she studied her Bachelors Degree in International Business & Management. Much to our delight, Tabea now firmly resides in Plymouth, working tirelessly as our Project Manager on a multitude of different assignments throughout the business. Tabea’s internship with us started in 2017 as part of her studies, and as our history suggests, Tabea’s tenure with us continued into a full time role in 2019 after completing her Masters degree in Digital and Social Media Marketing. She is an integral part of ensuring the smooth running of all small and large-scale projects and her conscientious approach to all of her work comes shining through everything that crosses her path.
Fuel’s Managing Director Martyn King said: “One of the best things about my job is that I get to see people join us with potential and we invest in them to fulfil it. Lucy Elliott is the latest in a long line of talented people to grasp their opportunity here at Fuel. I’m proud to see them all grow and make such a positive contribution to fuelling demand for our clients.”
